Future Cosplans: Halloween & PAX South

I’ve got some cosplays coming up that I’m very excited to be working on!

Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch (Avengers 2: Age of Ultron)

I won’t be going for 100% accuracy for Wanda due to time and budget constraints. I’ll be using a dress and boots that I already own. I chose her because I not only loved her character and powers, but I thought it was a good, recognizable, and SFW costume that I could wear to the office. I’m playing around with different ways of a practical effect for her telekinetic powers that I’m really happy with.

Blake Belladonna (RWBY, season 1)

Blake, of course, is already done. However, I did remove the black bias tape that was on the shorts because I use those white shorts all the time and the black stripes look strange when not in the context of the costume. I’ll be adding those back on for PAX.

Elizabeth Comstock (Bioshock Infinite, first outfit)

I’m really looking forward to cosplaying Elizabeth. I loved her character when I watched a friend play through Bioshock Infinite when it first came out. Then, I fell in love with her all over again when I finally got to play it myself after buying a new laptop last year. I bought a pendant for her choker at RTX2014 and have been itching to use it. I’ll design and make her skirt from scratch and may or may not make her blouse from scratch. It depends on if I can find a white blouse close enough to my liking that I could modify. I should make/get some silver eagles to hand out to any Booker cosplayers I see.

Naturally, none of these cosplays will need a wig. Hurray! I love my hair. I also love picking characters that have my hair already. Bit of a chicken-and-egg scenario. Not to mention, any props I make would be optional and won’t be nearly as complicated as the Gambol Shroud for Blake. Not that I would mind, making that thing was so fun and rewarding.

What are you doing for Halloween? Are you going to PAX South?

Let me know in the comments!
